Project 365

I came across this in digital land and loved the idea. The basic premise is to take a picture every day for one year. I've also seen it broken down into "A week in the Life", where it's only one week instead of a year.

I really like the idea behind this. You get to chronicle your life day by day. I know my life is pretty mundane and I get caught up in the everyday stuff of getting kids off to school, making dinner, doing laundry...boring. But imagine the possibilities if I can get creative with the scrap pages. I have so many ideas and new techniques I want to try that I thought this would be a great spring board for me.

So here's my deal. I know Project 365 started a long time ago and it's nearly over. But I'm a rebel and I can do what I want! LOL. Is there an internet or digital scrapbooking god who says I can't start today? NO! I'm going to do at least one scrap page a day for the next year.  (Interestingly, it's been a year since I moved from northcentral Indiana to Central New York state...if only I could have a visual reminder of that time!) I want to explore different techniques and maybe get good at one or a few of them. My only rule is that I have to use a picture taken THAT day. I can use older photos, but at least one photo has to be from the present day.

So who says scrapbook pages have to be about some special event? Why not scrap about the crappy weather and the kids watching Sponge Bob? Or the fact that I'm caught up on all the laundry or cleaned my kitchen? It will definitely be a fun challenge.

As I was cruising my scrapping haunts yesterday, I cam across a site that is so....delicious....that I wish I had more money to spend on stuff there. It's the Scrap Orchard and I'm telling you, the kits are awesome. I will be spending lots of time there!

When I first ventured out into digital scrapping, I knew nothing. I wish I had some guidance and I wouldn't have wasted so much time on other...less appealing sites. Free and lots of goodies does not equal good. Let's say I have a good stash of medium to low quality elements and papers. I paid for most of it, but I got lots of stuff for a low price. And now when I see sites like Scrap Orchard or Gotta Pixel or even the daily digi, I wonder what I was thinking. Guess I was just super excited to get started. Anyway, my advice on building a stash of digital goodies is to take your time and go to popular sites with quality designers. You will notice the difference! Quality over quantity!!!

Here is my layout of the day:

Papers and elements are from the kit "Gotta Go Back" from A+ designs over at Gotta Pixel.
Still learning and I probably could have used some frames or mats around the photos...maybe I'll work with it a bit to see if I can fix it up at all. Or maybe not. I have to work on my Project 356!

Have a great day!
