I've only been digiscrapping for a few weeks. I will do a post later that will be a rundown of what I wish I knew before I started scrapping. Things that would have saved me time and money and maybe help out any new scrappers out there.
So while it's still fresh in my memory, I want to share my first few attempts at making a layout. I finally did a "drop" in to feel accomplished after trying to figure out photoshop elements 8. At that point I didn't know how to resize a photo and not change it's dimensions. The people in my photo were squished.
Here's my first "drop-in" layout:
Now from what I've been reading, it's important to know who the designer is and where you got the layout to increase traffic to their site. I understand that but can honestly say I did not start doing that until recently (one of the things I wish I knew). So if you know who made this layout, please comment so I can give credit where credit is due!
I made this layout on my own with photoshop elements 8. It's not my very first layout, but pretty close to it. My two sons are in this and I believe I used papers and elements from the Shabby Princess.
Not too shabby for just starting out. Guess I didn't even use any elements, LOL. I believe I was trying to make a mat for my pics and I halfway succeeded. I would definitely make the second set of journaling darker and add a few elements. But it's nice in it's simplicity, don't you think?
If you are new to digital scrapping and are going nuts looking for answers, I suggest you try the Daily Digi for tutorials, reviews, and all things digi to get you started. There is wealth of info on that site that I wish I knew before I started.
Ok, back to more scrapping!
