I'm new!

I am new to the world of digital scrapping. I did try my hand at traditional scrapping...about 7 years ago. I got a few supplies (scissors, razor blade, templates, glue...) but it never really stuck. It was hard to make the pictures perfectly round without the jagged edges and if I didn't like the layout...well, it was pretty much over then.

I have 6 kids, the oldest being 17 and who just joined the Marines under the delayed entry program. He will be shipping out to boot camp in July of  '11 after his senior year. My next to youngest is just starting pre-K this year and I have 3 other kids in grades 1,2, and 4. Oh yeah, and my 2 year old still at home. So you can see, I have lots of opportunity to scrap.

I have been scrapping for nearly 3 weeks now and I love it. My hand cramps at night because I am curling it around the mouse for hours and hours on end. I find myself dreaming of layouts and digi supplies. I am planning pictures and pages, putting together layouts with the paper, elments, and word art. Already a junkie!

I think the best thing about digiscrapping is the amount of space needed. Which is just my computer. I don't need room to cut, paste, measure, etc. I can walk away from my screen and not worry about my kids messing up my layout (dont' you love the undo button?)

So my plan for this blog is to show you my pages I've created, link to sites I've discovered, and maybe post a few hints along the way in case somebody else wants to try this and is afraid by all the technology, LOL.

There is definitely a wealth of info on the internet, but as we all know by now, it takes time to wade through all the info and find a useful site. Like how to use photoshop elements for the first time with your first layout (and they will get better!)

So that's it for now. Just a brief intro and a starting point. I hope to update regularly but life will be hectic with all the photos to be taken and all the pages to be made!

Thanks for stopping by.
