Going Good

My scrapping is going good, I'd like to report! I'm so happy with the creativity aspect and I've been doing lots of surfing online for ideas and inspiration. I have been doing my Project 365 faithfully so far..though it's only been a week. I do find it hard to take photos of anything interesting. I guess that will leave me with lots of extras to make lots of fabulous layouts, right?

I came across a blog the other day and it struck me that I could use scrapping as a sort of diary. I could journal and make it look pretty or artistic, or whatever. Using the papers and elements for something other than just photos intrigued me. And I am a wordy girl. I love words and I love writing. I don't journal too much on my layouts since there is very little room left, but I do like the layouts with the journaling as the focal point. I made a layout like that and I was pleased. I am excited that I can not only preserve family moments but my thoughts about them as well.

My next to youngest son just started Pre-K this year. Next year he will be in Kindergarten and that means he will be in school all day. My nest is emptying out and as all mothers know, it is a bittersweet experience. I wanted to preserve that moment and I think I did with a journal layout. I wasn't able to get the photos I wanted for first day of school since the bus came about 20 minutes early, but journaling about it made it ok. I still preserved that moment in time for all of us!

Here's a look at one of my favorite layouts I've done so far. It's for my Project 365. This is a photo of my oldest son's after school snack: leftover meatloaf and a cup of hot cocoa. I like the way it's so simple.

That's my update for today. Have a great day!
