Project Love, Me

Despite my desire to NOT make resolutions, I have done that. Well, not exactly resolutions. Commitments.

One of these commitments is Project 365, a photo a day, everyday for a year. I am following the weekly prompts at GottaPixel and participating in P52- one layout a week. I have another blog documenting my photos with a brief explanation. For posterity.  If you want to follow along, please do so. I will probably post my weekly layout there as well as here.

I also decided to play along with Project Love, Me. This was started by Kami and Suzy from Scrap Orchard. I love the idea of documenting who I am for my children. They know me as Mom, not really a PERSON, with hopes, dreams, desires, and fears. Maybe they will be able to understand me a bit better when I’m all done with this.

Anyway, this is also a page a week, about ME! They supply ($$) the kits to scrap to the weekly themes. The prompts are posted on a blog.  I like the set up of the whole thing. It’s an exploration of the past, present, future, and the not so pretty side. You can still play along, and there are prizes. I won this week! Yay!! Here’s the link to the blog. Another plus to this project is that you don’t necessarily have to scrap to get these ideas down. You can write about them, make a video diary, draw, paper scrap. Whatever you want to do it’s all good.

Here’s my page that I made for the first prompt, iDream. You guessed it, a dream that you have. And since I’ve been struggling with my weight for a LONG time, I decided to scrap about that.

You can see it in my gallery at Scrap Orchard as well.  Prompt 2 is coming out today, so get over to the blog and check it out. You don’t have to use the iDream kit, but it is a nice kit.

I’ve been doing lots of scrapping. I do at least 2 pages a day for challenges at Scrapbookbytes and GottaPixel. I love doing these challenges because I get my pages done and they are all different! I don’t have to come up with ideas, since they are already out there.

Here’s one I did today. the challenge is at Scrapbook-bytes: Mum’s the Word. the word is New. I didn’t take any New Year’s photos and I wanted to do something a bit different than that anyway. I used one of my photos I took this morning and made a page about the sunrise. I like this one. I’ve tried to do the tiny photo with no journaling and mostly background, but I tend to put too much stuff in. I like my photos to be the focal point of my page, and I think I managed with this layout.

I used the kit Everyday Inspiration by Connie Prince. You can find a link to the product if you click on the photo.

That’s about it for now. I’ll update again in a few days or so. Have a great week!
